Code of Conduct
We believe in a welcoming and inclusive running community where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. To maintain this positive environment, we've established a code of conduct outlining the behavior expected of all members. These guidelines ensure that everyone understands their responsibilities and contributes to a positive club experience.
Code of Conduct - BADGERS
As a responsible member of the club, I will:
take responsibility in ensuring they are up-to-date with all policies.
treat everyone equally and respect the rights, dignity and worth of all members. Regardless of age, ability, race, cultural background, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
not behave aggressively, either verbally or physically to any other member.
avoid swearing or abusive language when representing the club, either at training, races or social events.
when using social media ensure not to post, share or upload any material that could be deemed offensive, abusive, bullying, discriminatory or derogatory.
if I have any issues or suspect another member has any issues relating to welfare or to misconduct, I will report it to a Welfare Officer as soon as possible.
ensure prompt renewal and payment of annual membership fees and any other training/race fees made through the club.
be responsible for keeping the club up-to-date of any changes in my medical conditions.
promote a positive image of the club by being a good role model to others.
Training Sessions, Race Meets and Social Events
As a responsible member of the club, I will:
take responsibility for my own safety and not compromise the safety of others.
follow the Highway Code while training and not take unnecessary risks that could put myself or other road and footpath users in danger. Run in single file where appropriate.
be courteous and if possible make way for other road users, pedestrians and members of the public.
wear clothing appropriate to the conditions, including hi-vis or reflective tops and the use of lights on dark nights.
inform the coach / run leader of any injuries or updated medical conditions prior to a session starting.
listen carefully and act upon any announcements, instructions and safety information given to me from the coach / run leader.
not deviate from the planned route / session without knowledge and consent of the coach / run leader.
wear the latest version of the club vest / T-shirt (without alteration) for all League and Championship races.
not race under someone else’s name or bib number.
not knowingly allow someone else to race under my name or bib number, or otherwise participate in an event under false pretence, or unregistered.
Breach of the Code of Conduct
I understand that if I do not follow the code, action can be taken by my club and I may:
be asked to apologise for my behaviour
receive a verbal warning from my coach / run leader
receive a verbal or written warning from the club committee
be suspended from attending club training sessions
be suspended from the club
be required to leave the club.
